Paul Russell (Lund & British Columbia) and András Szigeti (Linköping & Lund), together leading Lund-Gothenburg Responsibility Project (LGRP), organised, as part of the project, a conference on themes from Bernard Williams, on 13–15 June, 2019.

From the Roots of Responsibility (RoR) ERC project, John Hyman and Yuuki Ohta were invited to attend this conference, which took place in the lovely city of Lund, Sweden. It was a tremendous success, with a number of distinguished speakers, chairs, and many expert participants reflecting on a wide range of topics on which Williams so daringly and creatively wrote, leaving many serious, challenging, and urgent questions to his readers.

It was also our chance to get to know the directors of LGRP, with whom we began discussing various possibilities of future collaboration.

Paul Russell has written a piece profiling Bernard Williams for the TLS. It very helpfully outlines Williams’s many contributions to contemporary practical philosophy, their unity and their relevance.
