Research Seminar Spring 2019 (6): Free will and causation

The sixth meeting of the project research seminar this term (Spring 2019) will take place from 10.00 to 12.00, on Wednesday 20 February, 2019, in the seminar room at the Department of Philosophy, UCL (19 Gordon Square).

For this meeting, we will focus on free will and causation. The target readings are:

• Kenny, Anthony. 1975. Will, Freedom and Power. Blackwell. Ch. 7 “Spontaneity, Indifference, and Ability” and ch. 8 “Freedom and Determinism.”
• List, Christian. forthcoming. Why Free Will is Real. Excerpts from a manuscript. Due to copyright reasons, we cannot make this manuscript available online. Please contact the project administrator if you would like to attend this meeting, and read the manuscript.

Christian List will be present at the seminar. Simon-Pierre Chevarie-Cossette will introduce the topic.
